Sports Events in Silver Valley: May 13-19

The Kellogg Wildcats battled through a competitive field at the 2A State Golf Tournament at Circling Raven Golf Course, finishing fifth overall. The boys’ team put up a strong effort, with Compass Charter of Meridian taking home the team title. Junior Brodie Robinson led the Wildcats but narrowly missed out on the tenth medalist spot after losing in a playoff.

In the individual standings, Palmer Coleman of Priest River claimed the top spot with a score of 151. Beau Jones of Lakeside followed closely behind with a score of 153. In the girls’ division, Ashley Von Behren of Ambrose secured the top spot with a score of 151, while Katrina Von Behren, also of Ambrose, finished second with a score of 152.

Moving on to the Kellogg Track team, they competed in the 2A State Track Meet and put up a commendable performance. Nampa Christian emerged as the top team in the boys’ division, while Soda Springs dominated the girls’ division. Notable performances included Jackson Stepro finishing fourth in the 400m race and the Kellogg boys’ relay team securing the fourth spot in the 4×400 relay.

Overall, it was a thrilling display of talent and determination from the Kellogg Wildcats in both golf and track events at the state level.
