The local community is gearing up for a series of exciting golf events that aim to raise funds for various causes and bring people together for a day of fun and friendly competition.

First up is the Tee Up for Kids Golf Scramble, scheduled for Saturday, May 11 at Oxbow Golf Course. Teams of four can sign up for $240, which includes lunch, beverages, and the chance to win on-the-course skill prizes. With registration starting at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8:30, participants are in for a day of golfing excitement. Next, the Worthington Men’s Golf Association is kicking off its season with a breakfast on Monday, April 8 at Worthington Golf Club. This senior men’s league welcomes new members aged 55 and above to join them for weekly play from April 15 to Sept. 23. Golfers are also encouraged to bring canned food donations for a local pantry.

The Parkersburg High School Boys Track team is also hosting a golf scramble on Saturday, April 27 at Oxbow Golf Course. Entry is $75 per player or $300 per team, which includes greens fees, cart, and various game prizes. To register, reach out to the team’s coaches.

Lastly, the Fraternal Order of Police Blennerhassett Lodge 79 is organizing a “Back the Blue” bowling benefit on April 27 and 28 at Pike Street Lanes. With proceeds going towards FOP projects, participants can join for an entry fee of $25. Lane sponsorship and advertising opportunities are also available.
