Sreesanth reveals shocking truth about Kochi Tuskers and BCCI payment

Former Indian cricketer Sreesanth has made a shocking revelation about the currently-defunct IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala. In an interview on ‘The Ranveer Show’ on YouTube, Sreesanth disclosed that the franchise still owes money to several cricketers who were part of the team back in 2011.

The Kochi Tuskers Kerala team, which included big names like Brendon McCullum, Mahela Jayawardene, and Ravindra Jadeja, was terminated after just one season for breaching the terms of the agreement. Sreesanth mentioned that the players have never spoken openly about Kochi not clearing their dues.

The former India World Cup winner humorously stated, “Please guys, BCCI has literally paid you, I think. Please pay us…anyway whenever you’re paying, remember the 18% interest every year. I feel by the time my kid gets married, we will definitely receive the money.” He also highlighted that the team was supposed to be part of the IPL for three seasons but got terminated after the first year.

It was reported that Kochi Tuskers were removed from the IPL by the BCCI for defaulting on an annual payment of INR 155.3 crores in 2011. Despite the termination, some cricketers, including former Australia player Brad Hodge, have claimed that they are still owed a significant portion of their earnings from their time with the franchise.

The revelation by Sreesanth sheds light on the financial struggles faced by players due to the mismanagement of certain IPL franchises, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the world of cricket.
