St. Clairsville Red Devils Remain Undefeated with 11-1 Victory Over Martins Ferry
In a thrilling match-up on Monday, the St. Clairsville Red Devils secured their 10th consecutive win of the season with an impressive 11-1 victory over the Martins Ferry baseball team. The game, played at Memorial Park, showcased the Red Devils’ dominance as they maintained their undefeated record in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.
The Red Devils took control of the game early on, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the third inning to break the deadlock. Key hits from players like Hunter Hoffman, Caleb Keenan, and Marcus Bush propelled St. Clairsville to a commanding lead that Martins Ferry struggled to overcome.
Despite a valiant effort from Martins Ferry, they were only able to score one run in the top of the fifth inning. St. Clairsville’s strong defense, led by winning pitcher Hunter Hoffman, prevented any further scoring opportunities for their opponents.
Head coach Tom Sliva praised his team’s performance, highlighting the importance of hard work and dedication in baseball. The Red Devils sealed the victory with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, invoking the 10-run mercy rule and ending the game on a high note.
