Ronald A. Topel, a beloved member of the Williamsport community, passed away on May 2, 2024, at the age of 76. Surrounded by his loving wife of 43 years, Luann Topel, Ronald’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born in Rochester, NY, Ronald was a graduate of R.L. Thomas High School and Syracuse University. He dedicated his career to environmental protection as a water quality specialist with the Department of Environmental Protection until his retirement. Known for his athleticism, Ronald enjoyed track and field, volleyball, and was a passionate fan of the Boston Celtics, Syracuse sports teams, and the New York Yankees. His love for the outdoors was evident through his hobbies of golfing, hunting, and fishing, with a special fondness for fishing in Canada.

Survived by his wife and brother Larry Topel, Ronald leaves behind a legacy of cherished friendships and his beloved golden doodle, Ginger. The family expresses gratitude to the Geisinger Danville Hospital team for their exceptional care during Ronald’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Lycoming County SPCA. Private services will be held in accordance with Ronald’s wishes.
