Stefanik advocates for eradicating Hamas and praises Trump’s policies in address to Israeli Knesset

House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik made headlines with her fiery remarks at the Israeli Knesset on Sunday, calling for the complete eradication of those responsible for the October 7 terrorist attacks and advocating for a return to former President Donald Trump’s policies.

Stefanik, who is considered a potential vice-presidential pick for the GOP, criticized the Biden administration for blocking military aid to Israel and accused pro-Palestinian protesters on college campuses of “cosplaying Hamas.” She also took aim at Biden’s handling of the conflict, stating that there is “no excuse” for withholding aid to Israel.

In a rare move, Stefanik publicly criticized the American president to a foreign government, highlighting the divide between the White House and the House GOP on the issue of Israel. She emphasized the importance of moral leadership and expressed strong support for Israel, aligning herself with House Republicans who passed a bill to prevent Biden from interfering with weapons transfers to Israel.

Despite criticism from human rights groups and the Biden administration over civilian deaths in Gaza, Stefanik defended Israel’s actions, pointing to Hamas’ use of “civilian shields” and emphasizing Israel’s respect for human rights.

Stefanik’s bold stance at the Israeli Knesset underscores the ongoing debate within the Republican Party over foreign policy and the US-Israel relationship. As tensions continue to escalate in the region, Stefanik’s remarks have reignited the conversation around US support for Israel and the role of moral leadership in international affairs.
