Stephen A. Smith Observes One NBA Playoff Team Appears Defeated

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The NBA playoffs have been full of surprises and upsets, but the Western Conference Finals have been a one-sided affair so far. The Dallas Mavericks have taken a commanding 3-0 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves, and it seems like the series is all but over.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has noted that the Timberwolves look defeated, unable to contain the dynamic duo of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. Both players have been dominant, with Doncic hitting a game-winning 3-pointer in Game 2 and averaging impressive stats throughout the series.

Minnesota, who seemed to have the edge coming into the series, now find themselves on the brink of elimination. Despite holding fourth-quarter leads in each game, they have been unable to close out games against the Mavericks.

The Timberwolves, led by rising star Anthony Edwards, had shown promise after defeating the defending champions in the previous round. However, they now appear unprepared for the challenge posed by Dallas.

On the other hand, the Mavericks, who haven’t been to the NBA Finals since 2011, are on the cusp of a remarkable turnaround. With just one more win, they could secure a spot in the championship series, defying expectations set at the beginning of the season.

As the series heads towards a potential sweep, all eyes will be on whether the Timberwolves can mount a comeback or if the Mavericks will continue their dominant run towards the NBA Finals.
