Billionaire Businessman Stephen Schwarzman Announces Support for Donald Trump in 2024 Presidential Race

In a surprising turn of events, billionaire businessman Stephen Schwarzman has announced his support for Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Schwarzman, the CEO of the private equity firm Blackstone and a lifelong Republican, had previously been critical of Trump and had called for a new generation of leaders within the Republican Party.

However, Schwarzman’s decision to back Trump comes as a result of his concerns over the rise of antisemitism and what he sees as the country’s economic, immigration, and foreign policies heading in the wrong direction. In a statement, Schwarzman expressed his intention to vote for change and support Trump for President, as well as other Republican candidates down the ticket.

This marks a significant shift for Schwarzman, who had previously declined to support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after finding him uninspiring. Schwarzman had previously supported Trump in the 2016 election and had served as a trusted adviser during Trump’s time in office.

Schwarzman’s decision to support Trump comes at a time when other top executives at Blackstone, including the firm’s chief operating officer Jon Gray, have backed Democratic candidates in past elections. Gray, who supported Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020, has hosted fundraisers for President Biden in the current election cycle.

The announcement of Schwarzman’s support for Trump has already sparked debate and discussion within political circles, as the billionaire businessman’s endorsement could carry significant weight in the upcoming election.
