Stetson Law’s Advocacy and Legal Writing Programs Earn Top Rankings for Second Consecutive Year

Stetson Law’s College of Law has once again secured top honors in the prestigious U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2025. The Trial Advocacy program has clinched the No. 1 spot, while the Legal Writing program maintains its No. 3 ranking for the second year in a row.

Dean Benjamin Barros expressed his gratitude for the continued recognition, attributing it to the school’s unwavering dedication to student success. The College of Law’s overall rankings stand at No. 98 for the full-time J.D. program and No. 30 for the part-time J.D. program.

The recent accolades highlight Stetson Law’s commitment to excellence in advocacy and legal writing. The newly opened Advocacy Institute, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, underscores the college’s legacy as a national leader in advocacy.

Law Professor Elizabeth Boals, Director of Stetson Law’s Center for Excellence in Advocacy, praised the students’ hard work in representing the program at advocacy competitions worldwide. The Legal Writing program’s consistent ranking at No. 3 reflects Stetson Law’s emphasis on developing effective legal communication skills. Dr. Kirsten Davis, a Professor of Law, has been recognized as a national leader in leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance legal writing.
