Steubenville High School dominated the competition at the 69th annual Bellaire Relays, claiming victory in both the girls’ and boys’ divisions. The event, which took place at Shadyside’s Fleming Field due to flooding at the original venue, saw impressive performances from athletes across the region.

In the Belmont Savings Bank Girls Invitational, Steubenville secured first place with 91 points, followed closely by St. Clairsville with 82 points. The boys’ team from Steubenville also excelled, finishing with a commanding lead of 102.25 points, leaving Linsly in second place with 74 points.

Standout performances included Steubenville’s quartet winning the 4×200 Relay, and senior Sabria Jones taking first place in the long jump and the 200-meter dash. Martins Ferry’s relay team and Cambridge’s Zoey Caldwell also showcased their talents with victories in various events.

On the boys’ side, Steubenville continued their winning streak with victories in the 4×200 and 4×100 relays, as well as individual wins in the 400-meter dash and high jump. Union Local’s Johnny Sabinski impressed with wins in the discus and shot put events.

Overall, the Bellaire Relays provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and compete at a high level. The event highlighted the talent and dedication of track and field athletes in the region, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
