A Flash Flood Warning is currently in effect for several counties in Ohio and West Virginia, with heavy rainfall expected to continue through the night. The warning covers the eastern portion of Columbiana, Jefferson, the southern portion of Guernsey, the southeastern portion of Harrison, as well as Tyler, Wetzel, Ohio, most of Noble, Brooke, and Hancock Counties.

Meteorologist Nathan is urging residents to stay indoors and avoid any unnecessary travel as showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist through Friday. The area could see upwards of an inch of additional rainfall, with the majority falling early tonight. Temperatures are expected to drop back near 50 degrees on Friday, with strong winds gusting up to 40-45 mph adding to the chill in the air.

Despite the gloomy weather, there is a silver lining on the horizon. The weekend is expected to bring some relief, with highs climbing back near 60 on Saturday and into the mid to lower 70s on Sunday. Saturday will be dry with sunshine breaking through the clouds, but Sunday may see an increase in cloud cover ahead of more showers and thunderstorms in the evening and early Sunday night.

Residents are advised to stay updated on the weather conditions and take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of inclement weather. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
