Steve Carell, beloved for his role as Michael Scott in the hit series “The Office,” has shared his thoughts on the upcoming follow-up series to the iconic show. At the premiere of his new film “IF,” Carell expressed his excitement for the new series but confirmed that he will not be making an appearance.

The new series, co-created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, will be set in the universe of Dunder Mifflin and will introduce a new cast of characters centered around a dying historic Midwestern newspaper. Despite not appearing in the show, Carell praised the concept and the talent involved, particularly highlighting his previous work with actor Domhnall Gleeson.

While Carell won’t be reprising his role as Michael Scott, he is currently reuniting with his former co-star John Krasinski on “IF.” Krasinski, who directed episodes of “The Office,” is now directing the film in which Carell voices the lead character, Blue. Carell spoke highly of Krasinski’s directing skills and expressed his joy at working with his friend once again.

Fans of “The Office” can look forward to the new series, which has been ordered by Peacock and is set to premiere 10 years after the original show concluded. With a fresh cast of characters and the same documentary-style format, the new series is sure to capture the hearts of viewers once again.
