Stirling’s Peak to Receive £1.8million Renovation, Including Expansion of Fitness Studios and Gym

The Peak leisure centre in Stirling is set to undergo a major £1.8 million revamp, announced by Active Stirling as part of its 15th-anniversary celebrations. The expansion will include two new fitness studios and a significant increase in the size of the gym, doubling its current capacity.

According to Active Stirling, the redevelopment aims to better serve the growing community of members and address customer feedback for enhanced health and fitness facilities. As a result of the expansion, the sports hall space for hire will be reduced to six badminton-sized courts to accommodate the new fitness facilities.

While construction works are not expected to start until Autumn at the earliest, there will be some disruption to current groups and activities during the project. Active Stirling is working closely with users to minimize the impact and ensure a smooth transition.

Matt Bunnell, interim CEO at Active Stirling, expressed excitement about the project, stating that the updated facilities will allow for a wider range of fitness programs to cater to the diverse needs of customers. The organization is collaborating with Stirling Council to appoint a contractor and commence the necessary works for the expansion.
