Jenna Stockwell, a Jamestown native and Crimson Tide manager, received an unforgettable birthday gift last Saturday as Alabama secured a spot in the Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The 21-year-old, who specializes in analytics for the team, described the experience as a dream come true.
Following Alabama’s victory over Clemson in the Elite Eight, Jenna boarded a plane to Phoenix, Arizona, where the Crimson Tide will face off against Connecticut in the semifinals. This historic moment marks Alabama’s first appearance in the Final Four, and Jenna will play a crucial role in providing analytics for head coach Nate Oats.
Despite the challenges of working with technology during games, Jenna finds satisfaction in contributing to the team’s success. She will graduate this spring with a degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in sports operations, a field that has allowed her to feel more connected to the team.
Jenna’s hard work paid off as she celebrated the victory over Clemson by cutting down the nets and holding the West Regional championship trophy. Her father, Marty Stockwell, a math teacher and assistant varsity boys basketball coach, will join her in Arizona for the Final Four, creating a special moment for the father-daughter duo.
As Jenna continues to make strides in the world of sports analytics, she remains grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with her father and the Alabama Crimson Tide team.
