StrataTech Education Group Partners with The Home Depot to Educate and Empower Skilled Trades Professionals

PHOENIX, May 23, 2024 – StrataTech Education Group (StrataTech) has announced a groundbreaking partnership with The Home Depot’s Path to Pro program, aimed at educating and empowering individuals in the skilled trades to pursue rewarding careers in the home improvement industry. This partnership will provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed for professional welding or refrigeration careers.

With a staggering 360,000 new welding professionals needed in the next three years and a projected 6% growth in employment for HVAC technicians by 2032, the demand for skilled trade educators has never been higher. Recognizing this need, StrataTech is committed to helping aspiring professionals find success in the skilled trades, especially with 51% of high school students expressing interest in attending trade school.

Mary Kelly, CEO and President of StrataTech Education Group, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “At StrataTech, we understand the importance of building the next generation of skilled trades professionals, especially amidst the current labor shortage across our country. The Home Depot shares our mission to provide access to education and employment opportunities for aspiring professionals, and we are excited about the opportunity to partner with them.”

The Home Depot’s Path to Pro program, launched in 2021, has already connected over 40,000 aspiring trades professionals with industry Pros in need of skilled workers. Through this partnership, Home Depot’s Path to Pro will collaborate with StrataTech’s schools, including The Refrigeration School, Inc. (RSI) in Phoenix and Tulsa Welding School (TWS) campuses, to host Open House events where students can learn about the program and enroll in the Path to Pro Network.

Jenna Arca, director of Workforce Development at The Home Depot, emphasized the company’s commitment to educating individuals in the skilled trades, stating, “We’re excited to partner with StrataTech to expand our current training programs and create new opportunities for future Pros.”
