Sue Madden appointed as executive director of ESA Foundation

Sue Madden has been appointed as the new executive director of the ESA Foundation by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). Madden will lead the foundation in utilizing the video game industry to make a positive social impact, with a focus on education, community, diversity, and inclusion.

With over 20 years of experience in corporate philanthropy, Madden has a strong background in community outreach and DE&I initiatives. Prior to joining the ESA Foundation, she worked with the USA TODAY Network’s Gannett Foundation and BAE Systems, as well as running her own consulting group.

During her time as interim executive director, Madden has already made significant progress in setting a new strategic direction for the foundation. She will continue to oversee the ESA Foundation’s annual fundraising gala, Nite to Unite, and work towards expanding the foundation’s impact in supporting future leaders of the video game industry.

ESA President and CEO, Stanley Pierre-Louise, expressed confidence in Madden’s leadership, stating that her experience and strategic vision will be invaluable to the foundation. Madden herself is excited about the opportunity to support emerging talent in the industry and help them become future leaders.

Under Madden’s leadership, the ESA Foundation has awarded over $22 million in grants and scholarships to aspiring industry professionals, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a diverse talent pipeline. Her appointment marks a new chapter for the foundation as it continues to make a difference in the gaming community.
