Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Tournament Title Match Set Between App State and Old Dominion

In an intense showdown at the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament, both App State and Old Dominion emerged victorious in the Semifinals held at the Rome Tennis Center on Saturday.

Old Dominion, the 2024 Regular Season Champions and No. 1 overall seed, secured their second consecutive 4-0 win over No. 4 seed South Alabama in the first semifinal match. Meanwhile, the underdog No. 7 seed App State clinched the doubles point in a tiebreak set for the third time in the tournament to defeat No. 3 seed Troy with a score of 4-1. This historic win marks the first appearance for the Mountaineers in the program’s history in the championship match.

The stage is now set for an epic showdown in the Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship on Sunday, scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET start and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

In the first semifinal match, Old Dominion faced off against South Alabama in a highly anticipated battle. The Monarchs showcased their dominance with a trio of straight-set victories, securing their spot in the title match for the second consecutive year.
