Gladstone High School junior Lauren Sundquist proved to be the hero in a doubleheader against Menominee, showcasing her impressive batting skills and leading her team to victory. In game one, with a 1-1 tie and two Gladstone runners in scoring position, Sundquist stepped up to the plate. After working the count to 3-2, she launched a three-run home run over the left field wall, securing a 4-1 lead for Gladstone.

Sundquist’s home run was the deciding factor in game one, propelling the Braves to a win and setting the tone for the rest of the doubleheader. The team went on to sweep Menominee, improving their season record to 18-11. Coach Rick Pepin praised Sundquist for her clutch performance, stating that she continues to be a difference maker at the plate.

In game two, the Braves continued their dominance with a six-run second inning, fueled by key hits from players like Reese Herioux and Montgomery Pepin. Pepin, who also excelled in the circle, allowed only three hits and struck out seven in five shutout innings. The Braves ultimately secured an eight-run advantage, with Herioux finishing 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

The impressive performances from Sundquist, Pepin, and the rest of the team solidified Gladstone’s success in the doubleheader. With their strong offense and solid pitching, the Braves demonstrated their potential for a successful season ahead.
