In a stunning display of power-hitting, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma led Sunrisers Hyderabad to a resounding 10-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL match on Wednesday. The duo chased down a target of 166 in just 9.4 overs, with Head scoring 89 not out off 30 balls and Sharma contributing 75 not out off 28 balls.

The win propelled SRH to the third position in the standings with 14 points from 12 games, while LSG are struggling at the sixth spot with 12 points from the same number of matches. This victory also meant that Mumbai Indians are out of the play-off race.

The destructive partnership between Head and Sharma left even the legendary Sachin Tendulkar impressed, with him saying, “Had these boys batted first, they would’ve scored 300.”

Earlier in the match, LSG had posted a competitive total of 165 for four, with Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran putting on a crucial 95-run partnership for the fifth wicket. However, the brilliance of Head and Sharma in the Power Play overs took the game away from LSG.

The duo’s aggressive hitting left the LSG bowlers helpless, as they smashed boundaries and sixes at will. LSG’s decision to start with Krishnappa Gowtham backfired, as Head and Sharma dismantled the off-spinner and continued their assault on the other bowlers.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by Sunrisers Hyderabad, showcasing their batting prowess and securing a convincing victory over Lucknow Super Giants.
