The Superior Central softball team braved the cold and rainy conditions to sweep Manistique in a doubleheader on Thursday. In game one, the Cougars dominated from the start, scoring five runs in the first inning and adding four more in the second. Pitcher Sammy Johnson had a strong outing, allowing just three runs on four hits while striking out six.

In game two, Manistique took an early lead, but the Cougars quickly responded with a big inning of their own. Alice Hancock had a standout performance, tallying three hits, three RBIs, and four runs scored. The Emeralds made a late push, scoring five runs in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to one.
