Iga Swiatek continued her dominant form on the WTA Tour as she defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the Italian Open in Rome. The Polish star showcased her skills as she outplayed the world No 2 to claim her third title of the season.

In a rematch of their thrilling final in Madrid, Swiatek got off to a strong start, breaking Sabalenka early in the first set and maintaining her lead throughout. Despite struggling with her first serve, Swiatek’s powerful game kept Sabalenka on the back foot, forcing errors and dictating play.

Sabalenka tried to mount a comeback in the second set, holding serve and creating multiple break point opportunities. However, Swiatek remained composed under pressure, saving all of Sabalenka’s break points and eventually breaking her opponent to take a decisive lead.

As the match reached its climax, Sabalenka’s frustration grew as she struggled to capitalize on her chances. Swiatek, on the other hand, stayed focused and closed out the match with a confident display of her skills.

After the match, Sabalenka congratulated Swiatek on her victory and expressed hope for a rematch in the final of Roland-Garros. Swiatek, on the other hand, was pleased with her consistent performance over the past few weeks and looked forward to continuing her success on the Tour.

With this win, Swiatek solidified her status as one of the top players on the WTA Tour and will be a strong contender at the upcoming Grand Slam events. Her impressive form and fighting spirit make her a force to be reckoned with on the tennis court.
