Swifties rush to The Black Dog following mention by Tortured Poets Department

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Black Dog Pub in London has seen a surge in visitors following a mention in Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Swifties, as her fans are known, have been flocking to the pub in Vauxhall to pay homage to the song “The Black Dog,” where the singer references tracking an ex-boyfriend to the pub.

One such fan, Dewmi Fernando from Singapore, made a special trip to the pub to take photos in front of the iconic signage and the chalkboard displaying the song’s lyrics. She expressed her admiration for Taylor Swift, stating that the singer has been a constant presence throughout her life, from childhood to adulthood.

Charlotte Garratt, another Swiftie from Bedfordshire, also made the journey to London with a friend to visit the pub. She described the excitement of deciphering Swift’s lyrics and searching for hidden meanings in her songs.

While the pub was not yet at full capacity during the day, all tables were reserved for the evening, and fans continued to stop by to capture the moment. The sudden influx of visitors has been a welcome surprise for the pub owners, especially during a challenging time for English pubs facing rising costs and a decrease in customers.

To capitalize on their newfound fame, The Black Dog has introduced “Taylor’s Version” burgers and cocktails to their menu. They have also hosted events for fans, offering free beers to those who could sing a Swift song. The pub has seen a significant increase in bookings and sales, with plans to extend their opening hours to accommodate the demand.

Despite the buzz surrounding the pub, there have been no confirmed sightings of Taylor Swift or her ex-partner Joe Alwyn. However, the bar is already fully booked for all of Swift’s upcoming concert dates in London this summer.

While some have criticized the pub for going too far in their efforts to attract fans, the overall response has been positive. The “Taylor Swift effect” has undeniably had a significant impact on The Black Dog, turning it into a must-visit destination for Swifties and music lovers alike.
