The Taiwan Tourism Administration Center in Jakarta recently launched a themed exhibition called Taiwan-Waves of Wonder at Emporium Pluit Mall from 7-9 June 2024. The exhibition aimed to combine creativity, fun, and culture to attract more Indonesian tourists to Taiwan.

With the participation of 11 well-known travel agents, six airlines, and Indonesia’s largest bank, BCA, the exhibition showcased Taiwan’s most creative travel products and must-visit destinations. The goal is to make Taiwan the main tourist destination for Indonesian travelers in the long run.

The Taiwan Travel Fair featured national airlines like China Airlines, EVA Air, Starlux Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Singapore Airlines. Various travel agencies also participated to offer a more selective way of traveling to Taiwan.

Zhou Shibi, director of the Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Jakarta, highlighted Indonesia’s large population and the growing Muslim population as key factors in promoting Taiwan as a tourist destination. The center is actively promoting a Muslim-friendly environment and integrating sustainable development in Taiwan’s tourism sector.

Taiwan also offers unique experiences such as agricultural tourism, the Taiwan Spring Festival, Hot Air Balloon Festival, cultural diversity of the Hakka and Aboriginal Tribe, and culinary tourism. The country invites Indonesian tourists to explore these attractions and enjoy incentive trips.

Overall, the Taiwan-Waves of Wonder exhibition showcased Taiwan’s commitment to attracting Indonesian tourists through a blend of creativity, culture, and fun. With a focus on promoting Muslim-friendly tourism and sustainable development, Taiwan aims to become a top destination for Indonesian travelers.
