Taylor Heise Represents Team USA at the IIHF Women’s World Championship

Taylor Heise, a 24-year-old forward for the U.S. Women’s National Team, is gearing up for her sixth World Championship and third one with the senior team. Heise, who was the first overall pick in the inaugural PWHL Draft last year, is ready to bring her A-game to Team USA as they prepare for the IIHF Women’s World Championship in Utica.

Coming from a basketball family, Heise chose the ice over the hardwood at a young age and never looked back. Her dedication and hard work have paid off, as she continues to excel in the sport she loves.

“It’s a dream and an honor to be a part of this program,” Heise said. “I know how many people have put their life on the line, all their energy, and expanded into the league and into this, and how women’s sports have grown dramatically, even in the past three years.”

After a successful stint in the PWHL, where she scored four goals and seven assists in 14 games, Heise is now focused on representing her country on the international stage. With Team USA set to take on Switzerland in the preliminary round, Heise is determined to give it her all and help her team defend their gold medal.

“It’s been fun to see everyone, and know you’re going to get everyone’s best out there on the ice every day,” she said. “I’m very blessed to have met so many amazing people and to have the opportunity to learn from the best in the sport.”
