After the initial 16 songs dropped at midnight, a countdown on her website hinted at more to come at 2 a.m. ET. Swift then revealed that “Tortured Poets” is actually a “secret double album,” featuring an additional 15 songs.

In a caption accompanying the announcement, Swift shared, “I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”

Earlier in the evening, her official fan account, Taylor Nation, responded to a fan who noticed that none of the lyrics from a recent Spotify pop-up event in Los Angeles were featured in the album. This led to speculation and excitement among fans, with the hashtag #TTPDBoardMeeting gaining traction.

Some fans had already picked up on Swift’s subtle hints, as she had been incorporating the number two into her recent appearances and promotions. The album’s total of 31 tracks, with the addition of the new songs, reflects Swift’s lucky number 13 in reverse and makes it her longest album to date.
