Five wheelchair tennis players from Team USA are set to compete in the River City Slam Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in Henrico this June. Hosted by local adaptive sports club Sportable, the tournament aims to provide a competitive environment for wheelchair tennis players of all levels.

The event will feature over $5,000 in prize money and is open to both seasoned players and first-time participants. Among the five players representing Team USA are junior players Charlie Cooper, Tomas Majetic, and Max Wong, as well as professionals Jason Keatseangslip and Connor Stroud.

These players recently showcased their skills at the BNP Paribas World Team Cup in Turkey, with Cooper, Majetic, and Wong being part of the U.S. team that finished as runners-up in the competition last year. Wong, in particular, holds the title of reigning USTA junior and senior national champion.

The River City Slam is part of the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, which includes 160 tournaments worldwide each year. Players can compete in various USTA and ITF divisions, with the opportunity to win cash prizes. In the past three years, the tournament has attracted over 100 players from 26 states across the country.

Registration for the tournament is open until May 29, and interested participants can sign up on Sportable.org. Don’t miss the chance to witness these talented wheelchair tennis players in action at the River City Slam this June!
