Leaders of the Technology World Met in Istanbul!

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır recently convened with Turkey’s top technology manufacturers and entrepreneurs in Istanbul. During the meeting, Minister Kacır announced that the Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB) will be taking a new approach to support entrepreneurs across the country.

Speaking at the “Turkey’s Technology Journey” session as part of the SDN Summit 2024 program at the Istanbul Haliç Congress Center, Minister Kacır emphasized the importance of high technology and digital advancements in Turkey. He highlighted the country’s goal to not only consume but also develop and produce innovative technologies.

Addressing the impact of artificial intelligence on society, Kacır stressed the need for ethical frameworks and global cooperation in managing this technology. He also mentioned the significant progress Turkey has made in developing artificial intelligence technologies through technoparks and R&D centers.

Furthermore, Minister Kacır discussed the government’s efforts to support entrepreneurs and promote equality of opportunity in the startup ecosystem. He highlighted the increase in technoparks and technology startups in Turkey, with over 10 thousand initiatives currently in operation.

Kacır also announced a new initiative by KOSGEB to travel across Turkey and engage with entrepreneurs in different cities to foster new initiatives and support local brands. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of advancing battery technology and smart vehicle technologies in the country.

The summit, which will last for two days, features an exhibition showcasing the newest technologies in the industry. Visitors have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge innovations and witness the advancements shaping the future of technology. The event serves as a platform for networking and collaboration among industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts, highlighting Istanbul as a hub for technological innovation and development.
