Tehama County Board of Supervisors to review financial report – Red Bluff Daily News

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Auditor-Controller Krista Peterson will be presenting an in-depth analysis of Tehama County’s finances at the upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday. The report will cover the financial status from September through December 2023 and March 2024 for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.

According to the latest figures, total expenditures as of March 2024 amounted to $165,967,693, showing an increase from $151,207,024 in March 2023. The reduction in contributions to other agencies by $2,300,209 was primarily due to the allocation of COVID relief funds to the Red Bluff Chamber for small business grants in the previous fiscal year. However, this decrease was offset by increases in assistance programs administered through Social Services and Fire’s Schedule A expenses.

The general fund has received 61 percent of budgeted revenues, with 58.9 percent of tax revenue already collected. Property tax revenue saw a significant increase of $783,819, while sales tax revenue experienced a slight decline.

In other business, Health Service Agency Executive Director Jayme Bottke will seek approval for a subcontract agreement with Chico State Enterprises to provide registered dietitian services to the Tehama County Women, Infants, and Children Program. Public Health is unable to fulfill grant responsibilities without this agreement, as they have been without supervising Registered Dietitians since September 2023.

Additionally, Public Works Deputy Director Justin Jenson will discuss stakeholder recommendations with the Flood Control and Water Conservation District, and various departments will present their budgets to the supervisors. The meeting will also address the potential closure of the Tehama County Clerk & Recorder’s office on Friday, June 14.
