Tesla has officially unveiled a new Performance variant of the recently-refreshed Model 3 sedan in a bid to boost demand. Priced at $52,990, the new Model 3 Performance comes equipped with a new active damping system, adaptive suspension, and boasts 296 miles of battery range. With 510 horsepower under the hood, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Model 3 Performance offers 32% more peak power, 16% more peak torque, and 5% less drag. Despite the performance upgrades, the car consumes less energy thanks to a new-generation drive unit, rear diffuser, and spoiler. The front and rear ends of the vehicle have also received a slight facelift, setting it apart from other versions of the Model 3.

The Model 3 Performance retains the recent refresh updates, including an ambient light bar in the cabin, improved sound dampening, upgraded materials, a stalk-less steering wheel, and a new touchscreen display. This launch comes at a crucial time for Tesla, following a disappointing quarter for deliveries and recent layoffs affecting over 10% of its global workforce.

Orders for the new Model 3 Performance are already pouring in, with estimated delivery windows in North America set for May/June 2024. Tesla enthusiasts and car enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating the arrival of this high-performance electric sedan.
