Texans acquire Stefon Diggs from Bills in exchange for 2025 second-round draft pick, reports say

The NFL offseason is heating up with the latest blockbuster trade news involving star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The Houston Texans are reportedly finalizing a deal to acquire Diggs from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a draft pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

In the deal, the Bills will receive a 2025 second-round pick from the Texans, while Houston will acquire Diggs along with a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick. This move comes as a surprise to many, as Diggs has been a key player for the Bills since being acquired in a trade with the Vikings in 2020.

The separation between Diggs and the Bills seemed inevitable, especially after a drop in production following a coaching change last season. Despite posting impressive numbers prior to the change, Diggs saw a decrease in targets and receiving yards per game, leading to speculation about his future with the team.

The acquisition of Diggs is part of a busy offseason for the Texans, who have been making moves to bolster their roster. With Diggs joining the team, quarterback Josh Allen will have another weapon on offense to complement the likes of Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

Meanwhile, the Bills are undergoing a significant roster shakeup after four straight AFC East division titles. Along with Diggs, several key players have either moved on or been traded, signaling a new era for the team. As they look to rebuild their roster, the Bills will rely on a new group of receivers to step up and fill the void left by Diggs’ departure.
