Thailand Visa Update: Extended Visa Stays for Students and Tourists; Get all the Details Here

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Thailand has recently announced a groundbreaking initiative to boost its tourism sector by extending visa stays for various categories of visitors. The Thai Government’s comprehensive strategy aims to attract a more diverse range of visitors, including tourists, postgraduate students, remote workers, and retirees.

Starting in June, tourists from 93 countries will now be able to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days, a significant increase from the previous 57 eligible nations. Additionally, the government is doubling the duration of on-arrival visas from 30 to 60 days, making entry processes smoother for visitors.

Furthermore, postgraduate students completing their studies in Thailand will now have an additional year to stay and explore career opportunities. The government is also easing insurance requirements for foreigners seeking retirement in Thailand, making the retirement option more accessible and attractive.

These progressive measures are designed to not only stimulate tourism but also foster economic growth and job creation. By attracting a broader spectrum of visitors and residents, Thailand aims to diversify its economic base and ensure sustained prosperity.

Moreover, Indian passport holders can now enjoy visa-free access to Thailand until November 10, 2024, with a generous 30-day stay allowance. These initiatives demonstrate Thailand’s commitment to positioning itself as a premier destination for leisure, education, work, and retirement, ensuring a bright future for its people and stakeholders.
