The Airdrie Regional Home & Lifestyle Show is set to make a triumphant return this weekend, offering Airdronians a fun and affordable way to kick off the spring season. Taking place on April 27 and 28 at Genesis Place, this annual trade show is the largest of its kind in Airdrie, featuring close to 200 exhibitors from the local area and beyond.
Marilyne Aalhus, the Executive Director of the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses and community groups through events like the Home & Lifestyle Show. She described it as a great opportunity for residents to come together, meet their neighbors, and discover all that their community has to offer.
The show will showcase a diverse range of exhibitors, including businesses, non-profit organizations, and artisans, reflecting the evolving landscape of Airdrie. Aalhus highlighted the regional aspect of the event, with vendors coming from surrounding areas to participate. Exciting additions to this year’s show include vendors like Canmore Cave Tours and new games on the stage, such as a version of “The Price is Right,” where attendees can win prizes from vendors.
In addition to the exhibitors, the Home & Lifestyle Show will feature live performances from local groups like the Nose Creek players and Ambition Performing Arts. Attendees can also look forward to the return of Allen the Alpaca, a beloved party animal in the community. Families will find plenty of entertainment options for kids, including gaming activities from iGlitch! and the chance to interact with animals like puppies.
Food lovers will not be disappointed, as food trucks will be on-site, along with the popular Makers and Tasters Market showcasing a variety of culinary delights. The first 100 early birds each day will receive free entry, and the first 250 attendees on both days will receive a swag bag filled with goodies from sponsors.
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Home & Lifestyle Show is back with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Aalhus noted that this year’s event is a sold-out success, with a record number of exhibitors taking over Genesis Place. The show’s long history, spanning over 45 years, reflects its evolution from an agriculture-focused event to a comprehensive showcase of home and lifestyle products and services.
