The Black American Music Association, led by Chairman Michael Mauldin, has announced the inaugural celebration of The Ice Imperial Crown of Excellence Medal of Honor in Atlanta on June 2, 2024. This groundbreaking event will honor the legends, creative visionaries, and trailblazers within Black American music who have made a lasting impact on the cultural landscape.

The ICE Medal of Honor aims to recognize the contributions of artists and executives who have enriched the world with their talents and paved the way for future generations. Honorary hosts for the ceremony include Michael Mauldin, L.A. Reid, and Chaka Zulu.

The event will feature special toasts and salutes from Honorable Mayor Andre Dickens and the City of Atlanta. Mayor Dickens will also be awarded the ICE – Culture & Community Leadership Honor.

Notable honorees at the ceremony include Grandmaster Flash, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Suzanne de Passe, Jeffrey Harleston, Robert “Kool” Bell, Muni Long, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, and more. The event will also pay tribute to industry veterans Clay Evans and Rico Wade.

Michael Mauldin, Co-Producer of the event, expressed excitement about launching the ICE Medal of Honor and recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on the world through their art and creativity. The celebration highlights the power of Black American music in shaping culture and inspiring generations.

The Black American Music Association, founded in 2017, aims to preserve, protect, and promote the legacy and future of authentic Black American Music. The organization supports young talent, creators, and executives while championing the influence and understanding of this valuable indigenous art form.
