The Globe Drive-In in Barbados is not just a place to catch a movie anymore. The outdoor movie facility has transformed into a bustling market day every Saturday, providing a platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their goods and services.

Managing director Scheval Ali shared that the market day aims to support small business owners by offering them a fixed location to attract customers, network, and promote their businesses in a safe and welcoming environment. With over 20 vendors already benefiting from the event, Ali expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far.

“We want these market days to become a regular part of every shopper’s Saturday,” Ali said. The market offers a wide range of products, including fresh produce, plants, locally produced treats, skin care items, ornamental pieces, craft, clothing, and more. The goal is to create a one-stop shop for shoppers while supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs.

The market day takes place at the Adams Castle drive-in in Christ Church every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ali emphasized the importance of community support in helping these entrepreneurs grow their businesses and encouraged more people to participate in the market day.

With a variety of offerings and a supportive community, the Globe Drive-In’s market day is set to become a staple in the Barbadian entrepreneurial scene, providing a platform for growth and success for local businesses.
