The Globe’s 2024 All-Area Boys Basketball Team

The All-Area Boys Basketball First Team has been announced, showcasing the top players in the region. Kaleb Knothe, a senior guard from Worthington, stood out as a leader on and off the court. Known for his scoring ability and defensive prowess, Knothe averaged over 12 points per game and was a key player in leading the Trojans to success. His skills and leadership earned him a spot on the all-Big South Conference White Division team for the second consecutive season. Knothe will be taking his talents to Northwestern College in Iowa next season.

Joining Knothe on the First Team is Zach Hayenga, another senior guard from Worthington. Hayenga had a breakout season, making significant contributions to the team’s offense and earning a spot on the all-Big South Conference White Division team. His highlight performance included a career-high 41 points in a crucial win. Hayenga’s speed and shooting ability made him a valuable asset to the Trojans.

Other standout players on the First Team include Roman Voss from Jackson County Central, Trevin Prins from Southwest Minnesota Christian, and Bryce Hoekman from Murray County Central. These players showcased their skills and leadership throughout the season, earning well-deserved recognition on the All-Area Boys Basketball First Team. Congratulations to all the players for their outstanding performances.
