The Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia is making waves in the world of business education with its pilot AI program, ChatSDG. This innovative program evaluates how well scholarly articles and journals align with the UN’s sustainable development goals, a crucial factor for business schools seeking accreditation from AACSB.
At a recent business education conference, professors, deans, and administrators from various schools were eager to test out ChatSDG. The AI chatbot acts as a peer reviewer, providing a score from zero to five on how well the research aligns with UN goals. It also offers suggestions for improvement for unpublished articles and recommendations for real-world applications for published research.
Dean Joseph DiAngelo of the Haub School believes that ChatSDG will revolutionize the business school curriculum, research processes, and accreditation metrics. The program has the potential to significantly reduce the time and effort required for schools to obtain and maintain AACSB certification, a rigorous and prestigious accreditation in higher education.
Collaborating with Cabells Scholarly Analytics, the Haub School has been piloting ChatSDG in AACSB-accredited business schools for the past 18 months. The use of AI in business education is on the rise, with many schools incorporating it into their curriculum to enhance efficiency and quality of output.
With ChatSDG paving the way for faster accreditation processes and improved research alignment with societal impact goals, it is clear that AI is becoming an essential tool in the business education landscape. As more schools embrace this technology, the future of business education looks brighter and more innovative than ever before.
