The entertainment industry and fans alike are mourning the loss of Sam Rubin, the beloved Los Angeles entertainment reporter who passed away at the age of 64. Known for his infectious laugh, charm, and caring personality, Rubin was a fixture on KTLA for over three decades.

In a statement released by KTLA, Rubin was described as a giant in the local news industry and the entertainment world. His roles as a loving husband and father were said to be the ones he cherished the most. His manager, Jamie Gruttemeyer, expressed the sentiment that losing Sam was like losing a close family friend, someone who could always lift your spirits and bring a smile to your face.

Rubin’s passing reportedly came after filming his regular Hollywood news segment, with sources indicating that he suffered a heart attack on May 10. Throughout his career, Rubin went beyond entertainment headlines to explore the deeper meaning and impact of stories within the industry, generating conversations both within and outside of Hollywood.

In addition to his work at KTLA, Rubin made appearances on BBC television and radio in the UK, as well as contributing to Triple M radio and Channel 9 television network in Australia. His accolades included multiple Emmy awards, a Golden Mike Award, and a lifetime achievement award from the Southern California Broadcasters Association.

Rubin’s legacy extends beyond his on-camera work, as he also founded his production company, SRE, Inc., and authored books while contributing to various publications worldwide. He leaves behind his wife Leslie and four children, leaving a lasting impact on the entertainment industry and all who knew him.
