The decision comes as part of the tech giant’s strategy to hire less expensive labor outside the United States. The company is reportedly planning to establish a new team in Munich, Germany, which would serve as a more cost-effective option.

He recounted how he was preparing for an interview when he suddenly lost access to corporate resources and received an email notifying him of his termination.
In response to the layoffs, a Google spokesperson stated that the company is letting go of an unspecified number of employees as part of its cost-cutting measures. The spokesperson clarified that the layoffs are not company-wide and affected employees will have the opportunity to apply for internal roles. Additionally, a small percentage of the impacted roles will be relocated to hubs in India, Chicago, Atlanta, and Dublin.
