The Trek: Supernatural Survival Horror on World Display Screen Boards

World Screen, the Munich-based international sales outfit, has recently boarded the upcoming horror-Western film “The Trek” directed by South African cinematographer Meekaaeel Adam. The film follows a Dutch-Afrikaans family and their British companion as they journey through the Kalahari Desert in 1846, encountering ancestral spirits and facing a battle for survival.

As the group attempts a dangerous shortcut through the desert, they unwittingly attract the attention of two ancestral spirits who wager on the family’s lives to settle a centuries-old dispute. The travelers soon find themselves plagued by misfortune, tragedy, thirst, hunger, and disturbing visions, leading to fear and paranoia as they struggle to survive.

Starring a talented South African cast including Morné Visser, Rob van Vuuren, Trix Vivier, Maurice Carpede, Camilla Borghesani, and Leah Lindeque, “The Trek” promises to be a gripping and intense cinematic experience.

Director Meekaaeel Adam, known for his work on “The Last Victims” and other South African features, brings a unique storytelling approach to the film, exploring themes of colonialism, racism, and the battle for land. With World Screen on board for international sales, “The Trek” is set to make waves in the genre film world.
