Dawson-Boyd’s Brayson Boike Named Independent Boys Basketball Player of the Year
GLUEK — Brayson Boike, a 6-foot-7 forward from Dawson-Boyd High School, has been named the Independent Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Boike, a junior standout, led the Blackjacks to a No. 2 ranking in Class A and showcased his skills as a three-level scorer throughout the season.
Boike’s impressive growth and improvement were evident as he averaged 25.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game during his junior year. His father, Jason Boike, praised his son’s passing ability and basketball IQ, highlighting Brayson’s willingness to get his teammates involved in the game.
Coming from a family of athletes, with his father being a standout basketball player and his brothers excelling in various sports, Boike has always been surrounded by a competitive spirit. His dedication to basketball has also translated into success in other sports, such as track and field, where he has achieved runner-up finishes at the state level.
Boike’s talent has not gone unnoticed, as he has already received college basketball offers and attracted attention from Division I scouts. Despite his individual accomplishments, Boike remains focused on leading Dawson-Boyd to a state championship, emphasizing the importance of community support in his pursuit of success.
