Third Annual SkillsUSA Signing Day Hosted by Schuylkill Technology Center

On Thursday morning, the Schuylkill Technology Center hosted its third Annual SkillsUSA Signing Day Event at the STC North Campus in Frackville, marking a significant moment for the Class of 2024 Seniors. The event saw students formally committing to various pathways, including employment agreements in their fields of study, enrollment in post-secondary technical training, or enlistment in the military.

Local dignitaries, including Senator David Argall and various state representatives, provided words of encouragement to the seniors as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. The speakers emphasized the importance of staying or returning to Schuylkill County after completing their education.

STC South Campus SkillsUSA President Joel Williams and STC North Campus SkillsUSA President Van Caliendo closed the ceremony with inspiring words for their fellow classmates.

Following the signing, a breakfast was held, and awards were presented to companies involved in the school’s work coop program.

SkillsUSA, an organization focused on enhancing the nation’s skilled workforce, aims to empower individuals to excel in their chosen fields. The event showcased the dedication and commitment of students from various school districts, including Minersville Area SD, Blue Mountain SD, Pottsville Area SD, and more.
