Three Arrows Seniors Shine in High School Boys Tennis

The Pipestone Area Schools boys tennis team honored their seniors in a heartfelt ceremony during their recent match against St. James Area. Despite a tough loss with St. James winning 7-0, the focus was on celebrating the contributions of seniors Chase Wilson, Lucas Zupp, and Cody Norberg.

Head coach James Skyberg presented the seniors with tokens of appreciation, recognizing their dedication and commitment to the team. Wilson expressed his love for the sport and the friendships he has made through tennis, while Zupp recalled a memorable comeback victory early in his career.

Norberg highlighted the camaraderie among teammates as his favorite memory and shared his plans to study youth ministry and theology at the University of Sioux Falls. Zupp, on the other hand, will major in cyber security at Dakota State University.

Despite the challenges of the season, Coach Skyberg commended the seniors for stepping up into leadership roles and pushing through the wins and losses. The team’s most competitive match was at No. 1 doubles, where the Saints’ duo defeated Wilson and Winter.

Looking ahead, the Arrows will face MACCRAY and participate in the Benson triangular this week. The seniors’ dedication and resilience have left a lasting impact on the team, and they are hopeful for success in the upcoming individual section tournament.
