Three Bay Area high schools ranked in the top 10 in California by US News

The Bay Area is home to some of the best public high schools in California, according to the latest rankings by U.S. News. The top 10 list was dominated by schools from Southern California, but several Bay Area schools made their mark as well.

Riverside Stem Academy, Whitney High School, and Science Academy Stem Magnet claimed the top three spots in California, with graduation rates of 99% or higher. Moving down the list, Bay Area schools like Lowell High School, Lynbrook High School, and Dr. T.J. Owens Gilroy Early College Academy also made it to the top 10.

Lowell High School in San Francisco offers a rigorous curriculum with a focus on honors and Advanced Placement courses. Lynbrook High School in San Jose boasts a high AP participation rate and a diverse student body. Dr. T.J. Owens Gilroy Early College Academy in Gilroy has a 100% AP participation rate and serves a majority minority and economically disadvantaged student population.

The rankings considered factors such as college readiness, state assessment proficiency, and graduation rates. With nearly 17,660 public high schools across the country included in the rankings, these Bay Area schools have proven themselves to be among the best in the state.
