Get ready for the ultimate showdown in the cruise industry as the “Battle of the Cruise Ship Giants” is set to take place out of Miami in the summer of 2025. MSC Cruises has officially announced its North America schedule, which includes a deployment of the soon-to-debut MSC World America from Miami, pitting it against Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas and Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Celebration.

These three mega cruise ships are the biggest in their respective fleets, with Icon of the Seas being the largest in the world. MSC World America, set to debut in April 2025, will be the seventh-largest cruise ship globally, while Carnival Celebration is the 14th largest.

The summer of 2025 will see these massive vessels sailing from Miami to the Caribbean on epic seven-night trips. MSC World America and Icon of the Seas will sail on Saturdays, while Carnival Celebration will depart on Sundays.

The itineraries for these cruises will include stops at popular destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, offering passengers a chance to explore a variety of tropical locales.

This matchup between the giants of the seas is historic, as it marks the first time vessels measuring over 200,000 tons from two different cruise brands will compete out of a North American port. With state-of-the-art amenities and over-the-top attractions, these ships promise an unforgettable cruising experience for passengers.

In addition to the “Battle of the Cruise Ship Giants,” MSC Cruises also announced plans for three other vessels to sail out of North American ports in the summer of 2025, further solidifying its presence in the region.
