Hollidaysburg Senior Caden DeLattre Shines at LHAC Track and Field Championships

Hollidaysburg senior Caden DeLattre made a memorable mark at the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference track and field championships, setting new records and personal bests in the triple jump and long jump events.

DeLattre broke the meet record, his own school record, and set a new personal best with a winning distance of 47 feet, 1 inch in the triple jump. He expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, “It’s great to set a new PR and break the school record again too.”

Not content with just one record-breaking performance, DeLattre went on to win the long jump with a distance of 23 feet, 2 inches, setting another new PR and school record. Reflecting on his achievements, DeLattre mentioned that he believes there is still room for improvement and that he is focused on surpassing his own marks in future competitions.

In addition to DeLattre’s impressive showing, Penn Cambria senior Josh Stolarski also had a standout day, winning the 200 dash and the 400 dash. Stolarski, the defending PIAA champion in the 400 dash, expressed his satisfaction with his performance and highlighted his goal of making it to states.

Overall, it was a day of remarkable achievements for Hollidaysburg athletes, with Nathan Grabill winning the high jump and Wyatt Maines taking first place in the discus event. The team’s success at the LHAC championships showcased their talent and dedication to their sport.

As the athletes now look ahead to the upcoming district meets, they are motivated to continue pushing themselves to new heights and striving for even greater success in their track and field endeavors.
