Seton Hall University’s Teaching, Learning, and Technology Roundtable (TLTR) kicked off its 2024 agenda with an engaging event that brought together faculty, administrators, staff, and students to discuss the latest trends in educational technology. The event, held on March 20, highlighted the TLTR’s three vital committees: Artificial Intelligence, Online Learning, and Emerging Trends in Ed. Tech.

Co-Chairs Paul Fisher and Renee Robinson, Ph.D., provided an overview of the TLTR’s mission and history, emphasizing the importance of navigating emerging technology issues in alignment with the University’s strategic priorities. The Co-Chairs of each subcommittee then introduced themselves and outlined the goals of their respective working groups.

Two faculty members showcased innovative approaches to enhancing teaching and learning through technology. Leslie Rippon, Ph.D., demonstrated an emergency preparedness simulation developed in collaboration with VictoryXR, while Wyatt Murphy, Ph.D., showcased the use of ChatGPT in the General Chemistry Laboratory.

The event emphasized the TLTR’s commitment to leveraging technology to design innovative educational experiences and promote student success. All members of the Seton Hall University community were encouraged to stay engaged and participate in TLTR-sponsored events and initiatives to further advance the University’s digital transformation.

Established in 1995, the TLTR is a consortium of faculty, administrators, and students who meet to discuss instructional technology issues. The 2023-2024 committees include Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Trends in Tech, and Online Learning, each focused on researching and recommending policies to enhance technology usage in teaching and learning. The TLTR provides a forum for meaningful discussions about the transformative potential of technology in higher education.
