FLiRT variants, previously identified in Maharashtra, have now made their way to Kolkata, West Bengal. Health officials have confirmed the presence of the KP.2 variant, belonging to the FLiRT group, in thirty-six samples. This new variant is gradually replacing the JN.1 variant and has been found in approximately 50% of the sequenced samples. The analysis was conducted at the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics in Kalyani.

In other news, a recent study conducted by Harvard has revealed that taking aspirin within 4 hours of experiencing chest pain can significantly reduce the risk of death from a heart attack. Despite its effectiveness, many individuals are unaware of this timely intervention, as most do not seek medical attention until several hours after the onset of symptoms.

Meanwhile, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has recommended simple tests that can be performed at home to check the purity of milk. These tests are crucial in detecting common adulterants and ensuring that the milk consumed is safe and free from contaminants.

In the world of entertainment, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is set to undergo wrist surgery following her appearance at Cannes. Reports suggest that she sustained a wrist injury over the weekend and decided to attend the prestigious event after consulting with medical professionals.

As the heat wave intensifies in Delhi NCR, it is essential to be aware of the symptoms and risks associated with heat stroke. Immediate medical attention is crucial to prevent organ damage and potential fatalities.

Additionally, experts have highlighted the risks associated with belly fat, particularly in individuals with a higher proportion of visceral fat. This body type, known as “The Desi Belly,” is linked to an increased risk of metabolic disorders and heart disease.

Lastly, while facial fillers are commonly used for anti-aging purposes, there are potential risks, including blindness, if not administered by experienced practitioners. Dr. Ajay Rana, a dermatologist, emphasizes the importance of understanding the risks associated with facial fillers to avoid serious complications.
