Tokoroa Business Park on Track for May 2025 Opening

The Tokoroa business park development is making significant progress towards its opening date in May next year, with the Maraetai Road Intermodal Business Park project set to enhance economic growth in the area.

Since its inception in 2018, the project has received a $3 million Government funding boost and has now successfully completed site clearance, with land levelling works currently underway.

Acting executive manager of delivery, Nick Murphy, expressed his excitement about the economic potential the business park represents for the district, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the South Waikato District Council and their partners in driving sustainable economic growth.

Situated off State Highway 1, the business park is strategically located at the southern edge of the country’s “golden triangle” economic zone, aiming to attract new businesses and jobs to the district. Once completed, the park will offer comprehensive intermodal connectivity to the ports of Tauranga and Auckland.

Expected to generate 150 to 200 new jobs in the district, the park will feature 13 lots for sale, all with freight access, ranging in size from 1696sq m to two hectares, with the option to combine lots.

Camex has been appointed as the contractor, and project manager Joanne Salvacion reported that the development is proceeding according to schedule, thanks to the teamwork of all involved.

Developed in cooperation with the South Waikato Investment Fund Trust (Swift) and the Government, the project is expected to be completed by late April/early May next year, promising a bright future for economic growth in Tokoroa.
