Texas High Schools Shine in US News & World Report Rankings

HOUSTON – Texas continues to prove its excellence in education with several high schools making it to the top of the list in the US News & World Report’s annual “Best High School Rankings” for 2024. The report evaluated nearly 25,000 public high schools across the United States, including those in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Among the top 100 high schools in the country, Texas had 10 schools represented, with two Houston schools and one Dallas school making the list. The School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas claimed the top spot, followed by Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School and Science and Engineering Magnet School, also in Dallas.

In Houston, Carnegie Vanguard High School and DeBakey High School for Health Professions were among the top-ranked schools. These schools have consistently shown high academic performance and a commitment to preparing students for success in college and beyond.

The rankings serve as a testament to the dedication and hard work of students, teachers, and administrators in these schools. Texas continues to set the bar high for education, providing students with the resources and support they need to excel.
