The quarterfinals of the state sectional team tournaments have wrapped up, and there were plenty of surprises and standout performances to highlight. Let’s take a closer look at some of the key results from the second round of the playoffs.

In North 1, Group 1, the 7th-seeded Cresskill team pulled off a major upset against 2nd-seeded Kittatinny with a 4-1 victory. Despite Kittatinny’s impressive 14-1 record, Cresskill came out strong and secured the win with standout performances from players like Alejandro Araje and Josef Lee.

Moving on to North 2, Group 1, the 9th-seeded Whippany Park team shocked 1st-seeded Secaucus with a 4-1 win. Joshua Young and Andy Cho played key roles in securing the victory for Whippany Park, showcasing their determination and skill on the court.

In the Central Group 1 matchup, the 10th-seeded Metuchen team delivered a dominant 5-0 win over 2nd-seeded Point Pleasant Beach. Grayson Kahng led the way with a solid performance at first singles, setting the tone for Metuchen’s impressive victory.
